Immunochromatographic Assay

Specimen Requirements

Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

 

Plasma
Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s). Spin down and send 1 mL (minimum volume:  0.5 mL) of EDTA plasma refrigerated within 4 hours of draw. Maximum storage of specimen is 72 hours refrigerated.
Note:  Label specimen appropriately (plasma).

 

Serum
Draw blood in a plain, red-top tube(s) or a serum gel tube(s). Spin down and send 1 mL (minimum volume:  0.5 mL) of serum refrigerated within 4 hours of draw. Maximum storage of specimen is 72 hours refrigerated.
Note:  Label specimen appropriately (serum).

Reference Values

Negative for heterophile antibodies (reported as positive or negative)
