Methodology
Includes a battery of enzyme histochemical stains. Immunostaining and other tests can be performed as indicated and will be charged separately.
Note: Electron microscopic studies are not performed on sent-in muscle biopsy specimens.
Specimen Requirements
Send specimen Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday only.
Submit muscle biopsy specimen.
Note: A completed “Pathology Request Form” with the following information is required for processing:
A. Pertinent physical history
B. Name of muscle
C. Date of biopsy
D. Most recent laboratory results
Reference Values
An interpretive report will be provided.
