Specimen Requirements
Draw blood in a grey-top (potassium oxalate/sodium fluoride) or dark green (sodium heparin) tube(s) and place on wet ice immediately. (Do not use a tourniquet.) Spin down within 15 min. of draw, separate, and send 2 mL (pediatric: 0.2 mL) of plasma refrigerated.
