Important Note

Outpatient samples need to be stored and transported on wet ice and received by the laboratory within 4 hours of collection.

Refrigerated Inpatient samples stable for 5 hours.

Specimen Requirements

Draw blood in a dark green-top (sodium heparin) tube(s), and send a minimum of 1 mL of heparinized whole blood OR  a minimum of 0.2 mL of heparinized whole blood from a green pediatric capiject. Forward promptly.
