Methodology
Note: Gram stains are automatically done on specific specimen and/or culture types. A Gram stain can be ordered (as an additional request) on specimens that do not routinely include a Gram stain.
Specimen Requirements
Forward fluid or tissue in a leakproof, sterile container.
Maintain sterility and forward promptly.
Note: Sterile swabs are also acceptable.
Reference Values
An interpretive report will be provided.
