The presence of only IgG antibodies generally indicates past infection with CMV. Up to 80% of U.S. blood donors exhibit serological evidence of previous CMV infection.
CYTOMEGALOVIRUS ANTIBODIES, IgM
Negative (reported as positive or negative)
The presence of IgM antibody to CMV suggests recent or current infection.
