Specimen Requirements
Contact Huntsville Hospital Laboratory Client Services at 256-265-2522 or 800-278-0588 for permission to collect.
Specimen must arrive at Athena® Diagnostics within 24 hours of collection and be shipped from Huntsville Hospital Laboratory to Athena® Diagnostics Monday through Thursday only.
Spinal fluid and whole blood are required for this assay.
Spinal Fluid
Collect 2 mL of spinal fluid in a sterile, leakproof container.
Send specimen refrigerated.
Whole Blood
Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s). Send 10 mL of EDTA
whole blood refrigerated.
Reference Values
An interpretive report will be provided.
